Our artist of the month for August is Barbara McFarland. Her artwork is currently beautifying our community room walls. Take a look at a couple examples here, but also stop in to see the entire exhibit.
And, don't forget to come on August 25th for a reception for Barbara (7:00pm).
Barbara has been painting for over forty years, concentrating first on regional subjects of the Midwest in oil, then expanding to experimental techniques in transparent watercolor, acrylics, and collage.
Her works have been accepted and recognized in National Expositions, while being represented by Midwestern and Caribbean galleries.
Barbara divides her time between Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin and Nevis, West Indies. In both locations she incorporates the spirit of the ancient indigenous cultures into works of depth, spiritually and figuratively.
Her paintings may be found in numerous international corporate and private collections.

The new furniture for the community room has arrived! It is gorgeous. Come in to see it and test it out in person. Comfy chairs for lounging, tables and chairs for small meetings, or to use with your laptop, and the computer tables are actually large enough for setting a notebook next to the computer for taking/consulting notes while you work. Thank you again to all the donors and tireless volunteers!
The floors look great. The new carpet is a pattern which is nearly impossible to describe, and it doesn't show up well in pictures, but there's a closeup included here to kind of give you the idea. Now all we are waiting for is the furniture!
